Malnutrition has been an issue in Haiti for a long period of time. Most dairy products are imported from the United States, making them expensive. The average price for a gallon of milk on Hispaniola is around $9 a gallon. The Haiti Agricultural Institute is a vocational school which teaches the basics of agriculture, with a dairy and creamery to produce dairy products for the community, and how to raise crops for consumption. The institute will teach students about agriculture and help prepare them to go out on their own and start their own farms or dairies to help the ag conditions of Haiti, and improve the health of the country.
