Cattle Pasture and Shelter

The cattle of the Haiti Agricultural Institute will be placed in two separate pastures side by side.  Each of the pastures will start out having about 30 cows to start out with.  As the dairy grows, there will be room to expand to accomadate more to increase production. There is a shelter in between these pastures, which covers both of them.  An alley is placed between the pastures and the rest of the site, so the cattle can be guided into the milking building with ease.  The animal shed is designed so that there is an opening at the top of the shed roof, so the air within the structure can be easily ventilated.  The overhang, which serves as part of a truss system, overhangs out so that hay and other supplies can be stored without the risk of rainwater ruining them.
